Hello, Eee PC

Got my new Eee PC from UPS just now. It’s amazing how much the default interface looks like Windows XP, even though there are so many ways I can tell that it’s obviously not. (barf)

Will be putting Fedora on it tomorrow after I get my new flash drive.

  1. Hey, what model did you get? I recently got a 1000h, and I’ve been trying to install any flavor of linux on it, but both the wireless and wired connections don’t seem to be supported by the current popular distro releases. Fedora 10 has a driver for the wired at least, but that’s about it (and the alpha breaks too frequently to seriously use anyway). So, could you let me know if you have any luck?

  2. @Roderic: Got the 900 16G. AFAIK, Linux drivers for the Atheros chipset are sparse, so you’ll need to get the Madwifi drivers somehow.
